Low endogenous testosterone levels predict mortality due to cardiovascular disease but are not associated with death from other causes, according to a recent analysis of data from the Health in Men study, a population-based cohort investigation of men aged 65 years and older from Perth, Western Australia. The authors suggest that preventing hypogonadism may improve cardiovascular outcomes but will not likely have an impact on other longevity factors.
